Kevin’s involvement with the Tyne and Wear Metro began in 1993 with the Sunderland Metro Extension. This work included new stations, refurbishment of existing stations and a new rail line with additional stations from Sunderland City Centre.
This work developed to include redevelopment of Sunderland Station and a host of infrastructure extensions and further studies which continue currently.
The redevelopment of Haymarket Station was a flagship project being a public / private partnership creating a newly refurbished station as well as developing the air-rights. The projects have won a number of National Awards.
