Paragraph 79 houses come in many different forms and this project takes the guise of a classical folly in a riverside landscape alongside the River Severn near Shrewsbury.
The project has been a collaborative effort with Alistair Baldwin Landscape Architects and the Traditional Architecture Group through their design review process.
The design takes its cues from the historic references of the City of Shrewsbury. Designed in local stone and brick it is entered through a grotto which faces the river and the house is crowned by a zinc dome. The river gods are represented on the parapet of the building.
