Later re-named as St. Peters Metro Station
This project designed by Kevin is multi-award winning. The scheme sits on a Grade II listed viaduct adjacent to the River Wear and the response was to design an unashamedly modern building.
The lightweight steel structure touches the existing stone structures gently. The scheme features a glass roof and a glass concourse floor with integrated artwork. The scheme was designed in conjunction with Arup and has been noted as “the best on the Tyne and Wear metro”.
