Lakeside Eco House

The Lakeside Eco House in Northumberland is conceived as a hierarchical collection of fractured individual angled blocks very closely arranged along the edge of an artificial lake – the site historically has an important old well adjacent the house.

The house among the ensemble is constructed of 3 related forms – a Living block, Relaxation block and an Active block all linked together with narrow transparent glazed linkages over two levels.  Additional smaller elements include the courtyard and garages and guest and support accommodation.

Roofscapes are angled mono-pitch intensive green roofs providing internal height where it is most needed internally and this helps to break down the scale of the overall building form while creating a modern and innovative Country House.
